The Canucks face off against the hometown kid in Conner Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks tonight in a crucial game after coming off a huge win against the Flames. Silovs would make the start tonight as Lankinen had been in net for a while now. The first period started with push from the Canucks fourth line but the Hawks would get it out. The first line would come back but the Hawks would get down and get a chance but after a missed net the Canucks would come back and get a close chance they couldn't get off and it would go back to their zone with Bedard getting a shot off that would be stopped. The Canuck would get a chance with Kiefer Sherwood getting a shot off the left pad. The Canucks would get good zone time with Elias Pettersson getting an opportunity but the pass would go to his feet and wouldn’t get the shot off. The Hawks would get in the zone and Mancini would take a high sticking penalty and the Hawks would go to the powerplay. They would start it off with the Canucks getting the puck to the Blackhawks blue line and they would regroup back in and get a shot off that would be stopped. The Hawks would set up and Myers would make two good plays first with a laydown block then second with a stick in the lane and giving Silovs the chance to cover. The Canucks would clear off the draw and as the Hawks came back they would shut it down and get it down again. The Hawks wouldn’t get anything else on the powerplay as it would end and the Canucks would get down with a chance for Mancini that wouldn;t get through. Later the Canucks would get a shot that would redirect but stay out. The game would continue without a whistle with the Hawks getting the best chance with Murphy seeing Silovs out of position and getting a shot that almost fooled him. The Canucks would get on chance with a Mancini shot from the point that would be blocked aside. The Canucks forth line would have another good shift with Sherwood getting a chance right in front but it would miss the net. Later after a chance for Suter that he couldn’t get a shot off Hughes would break some ankles and Chytil would later get a shot. The Hawks would come back with a chance for former Canuck Ilya Mikeyhev that would be stopped with trouble and the Canucks would come back and after some zone time Hronek would find Hughes with the most time and space ever and he would put it to good use and firee his fifthteenth of the year to take a 1-0 lead. Off the draw the Hawks would come back but the Canucks would shut it down and on the rush back Myers would take a drop pass and shoot it post and in past Soderblom for fifth his of the year to extend the lead to 2-0 35 second apart. The Canucks would come back with Cytil getting a good shot that Soderblom had trouble with but he would cover. Play would go on with the period ending in a 2-0 Canucks lead. The shots on goal tell a different story then on the ice the Canucks dominated the first.

The second would start with Silovs getting a delay of game penalty to send the Hawks to their second powerplay. The powerplay would start with a good hold by Teravinen but the Canucks would clear right after. They would get back in and Danato would get a chance that he wouldn’t get all of and the Canucks would come back on a 3-2 and Danato would make a great defensive play to stop it. The Canucks would continue the good penalty kill and kill it off. Play would go back and forth for a bit until the Canucks would settle in the Hawks zone and Chytil would draw a hooking call sending the Canucks to the powerplay. The Powerply would start with them unable to set up and the Hawks would kill a lot of time. THey would eventually set up but a cross blueline pass would be picked off and the Hawks would come down and after a missed pass the refs would miss a slash on DeBrusk and the Canucks would get the puck back. After the penalty would end, the Canucks would set up and get a chance and after a Hawks clear they would come back and get two more but wouldn’t be able to bury. The Hawks would come in with some zone timer but after they tried to reenter the puck would come to Garland and he would get a shot that would be stopped. The Canucks would regroup and the puck would find Garland again who would do a give and go with Suter and he would put it home for his seventeenth of the year to take a 3-0 lead. I am back to going to highlights for the rest of this article as the Hawks would get into the Canucks zone and Donato would make a great play stopping and waiting for the play to set up as he would find Alex Vlasic who would shoot it past Silovs for his fourth of the year to get the Hawks on the board.

The Third would start with the Canucks getting the puck on a turnover, Hoglander would find Pettersson in the slot he would make a beautiful move and rip it home for his fifthteenth of the year but nobody would know that it went in as Hoglander would score right after but it would be Petterssons goal. Later as the Hawks entered the Canucks zone they would have to turn back and regroup and Levshunov would find Wyatt Kaiser and he would come in and rip a beautiful shot past Silovs for his fourth of the year to cut the lead to two again. Later the Canucks after Silovs gets the net back in place would get in on the forecheck Blueger would send it in front to Kiefer Sherwook and he would make an amazing pass while being in the middle of three defenders over to Nils Aman who would put home his first of the year to extend the lead to 5-2. Off the next faceoff the Canucks would come in with Joshua getting it over to Garland who would make a great pass to Pius Suter who would put it home for his eighteenth of the year to take a 6-2 lead. The Canucks would hold that lead until the end of the game and take a 6-2 win over the Blackhawks in an amazing game for the Canucks.
