Now let’s get into This Week in CanucksLand,

The week started off with the Canucks facing off against the New Jersey Devils on Amazon Prime. In a game where they needed two points they played very well in the first except for their powerplay where they barely set up and it looked bad but they did exit with a 1-0 lead thanks to Pius Suter. The second they still looked good five on five but they ended up taking 2 penalties and on the second one the Devils would tie the game with a goal from Timo Meier. The third was the not the best for the Canucks as they would let one in from Timo Meier but would get one back 45 seconds later Lekkerimaki would tie the game and keep the Canucks in it but then Haula would add one more for the Devils and the Canucks would take that deficit till the last 60 seconds where half way through they would tie the game thanks to either Garland of Suter idk who they gave the goal too but they would send the game to overtime. The overtime period was fun as the Canucks would get a couple of chances but their former goalie would hold strong and speaking of goalies holding strong THATCHER DEMKO played so well in overtime and was the reason we won this game. The game would go to a shootout where deBrusk would open with a goal and then Bratt would tie it in the second round. After three misses it would be Lekkerimaki’s turn and he would shoot it past Markstrom short side and the Canucks would get the two points lets go

The second game was against the New York Islanders and it would be a better game cause after a scoreless first period the game would blow up in the second with five goals three for the Canucks and they would add two more in the third and take this game 5-2. Now I skipped through this game because it is a perfect example of how this team needs to play for the rest of the season now when this comes out the Winnipeg game should be played I hope that we played like that again cause we beat them before (it’s still not going to be a easy game they are a good team) but we need these wins late in the season but not only that we need the blues to lose and it looks like they won’t. But this was our best game this week and they need to ride this play.

The Canucks finished their week against the Blue Jackets and this game was a mess. We have one of these games every year where we score a lot of goals but still lose as the game would open up with three straight from Karlsson, Boeser, and DeBrusk. The second is where the chaos would begin as they would BLOW THE LEAD as goals from Jenner, Marchenko, and Fabbro but Myers would get one to make sure we didn’t leave the second in a tie game. But they wouldn’t do it in the third as after Raty would extend the lead they would guess what BLOW THE LEAD with the Jackets getting three straight from Mateychuk, Jenner, and Oliver. The CAnucks would get one back thanks to Raty who would send the game to overtime. Overtime wouldn’t solve anything and after Kent Johnson would open the shootout with a goal and then no one would get one after it and the Jackets would win in a shootout and the Canucks would lose a point.

Overall 5/6 points is great especially when we need them but with the Blues being perfect it doesn’t really help our odds of making the playoffs if the Canucks can keep up the good play except for the Columbus game we can still make a push but it will be very hard still.
