The Canucks face off against the New York Rangers in the second game of the road trip. This is the first game against J.T Miller since he was traded on January 31st. Lekkermakki and Mancini would join the team replacing D Petey and Linus Karlsson. The game would start with Hoglander getting a chance that would be stopped. Later the Canucks would put on some pressure and they would get a shot on goal that would be held out. Off a draw the Rangers would get it down and Rempe would charge the dump and it would find its way to the point and a shot would go off Lankinen’s pad and Rempe would shoot Othmam’s chance and put it wide. The Rangers would make a good passing play but it would be broken up at the end and the Canucks would come back. Sherwood would wait and feed it to DeBrusk who would put it wide and then he would try to find Suter in Front but missed. After a great Play by Lekkermakki to get the puck in the zone the Canucks would get the puck to the point he would break Rempe’s ankles then skate in and shoot it on goal and it would be stopped then the rebound would be put in by Joshua for his fifth of the year to take a 1-0 lead. On a regroup Sherwood would give it to Hughes and he would find DeBrusk and his shot would be stopped. The Canucks would get another chance with Suter getting a shot from the point to extend the shot lead to 9-1. Garland would get a chance that Shesterkin would get the chicken wing on it and the Canucks would continue pressure but the Rangers would get it out. Hoglander would get the puck after Pettersson interception and would try the move he did last time he scored against the Rangers but wouldn’t do so this time. The Rangers would put on slime pressure but wouldn’t put anything on goal. Play would continue until the end of the period and the Canucks would take a 1-0 lead into the second. Good period for the Canucks would rather have a bigger cushion but a lead is always nice.
The second would start with the Rangers getting their second shot on goal. The Canucks would enter offside but the linesman wouldn’t call and Aman would go to take the puck from Shesterkin and would get slashed and cross checked for it and after the scum there would be incidental penalties and it would be 4 on 4. The 4 on 4 would start with Hughes getting in and getting a shot then after Debrusk would get a chance trying to set up Pettersson but he wouldn’t get it and then Boeser and Suter would get a chance then the 4 on 4 would end. Later Rempe would grab Garland and the Canucks would try to get a chance on the delayed penalty but the Rangers would get the puck and the Canucks would go to the powerplay for the first time. Ragner would clear off the draw the Canucks would not be able to enter and the Rangers would come down 2 on 1 and Lankinen would make the save off K’Andre Miller. Later after the Canucks set up Shesterkin would take a Roughing penalty and the Canucks would go to a 5 on 3 powerplay they would set up and get a chance that would be stopped and they would get the only penalty in a scuffle when DeBrusk would get a penalty for getting jumped by four players and is would be 4 on 4 again. The Rangers would get possession and get a chance but the cross crease pass would be missed and they would ice the puck. Off the draw Hughes would get in and get a backhand on goal that would be stopped. The Rangers would go to the powerplay and the Canucks would clear and it would end quickly and the Rangers would come back in and the puck would go to the blueline and the shot from the point would be tipped by Adam Fox and past Lankinen for his sixth of the year to tie the game. The Canucks would come down and a centering pass would bounce over the stick of Aman. The Canucks would come back and would have a 5 on 2 on a bad change by the Rangers but wouldn’t put it in and it would stay 1-1. Play would continue until Pettersson would get in and send it to Boeser and he would put it wide. Later Zac Jones would get a sharp angle shot that would be a bit of trouble but Lankinen would make the save. Lekkermakki would get the puck to Hoglander and it would go to Myers and he would shoot it from the point but it would be stopped. Off the draw the Canucks would control in the Rangers zone and in a battle in the boards Cuylle would go after DeBrusk and play would continue and Hughes would get a shot on goal and the scuffle would continue and Cuylle would get two penalties and DeBrusk would get one and the Canucks would go to a split period powerplay for the rest of the second. Pettersson would not join the powerplay as during the second he went to the Locker room and came back and then got limited time. The powerplay would start with the Canucks chasing a clear, they would come back and Lekkermakki would make a good play and get a shot but it would be stopped. The Rangers would get in and try to get a chance but the pass would be out of reach and the period would end in a 1-1 tie. They need to score like the shots are 25 to 6 PUT THE PUCK IN THE NET.
The Third would start with my Telus glitching out and missing the first seven minutes of the third so I'll do highlights for that part. The Canucks would start on the powerplay but it would be killed off. The Rangers would come in and it would be Lafreniere to Miller to Brodzinski who would put it home for his eighth of the year to take a 2-1 lead play would continue until Rempe would get a chance in front but wouldn’t hit the net. Play would go back and forth for a bit until Quinn Hugues would go for a skate and go around the Rangers and get a shot but it would be stopped. DeBrusk would put the puck in front but it wouldn’t find a Canuck. The Canucks would get down and Sherwood would put it wide and the puck would get to Mancini and he would skate in and pass it to O’Conner and he would shoot it would be stopped and he would get the rebound and put it home for his tenth of the year to tie the game 2-2. The Rangers would come back Later and a weak pass in front by K’andre Miller would bounce off Hughes skate and in for his sixth of the year to retake the lead at 3-2. The Rangers would come down on a 2 on 1 and Zebinajad's pass to Cuylle and he would hold instead of shooting to try to find the third player in and the play would be broken up. Right off the draw the Canucks would battle and Boeser would come out from behind the net and put it past Shesterkin for his fifth in three games his twenty third of the year to tie the game again. And again the Canucks would let one in right away as Brodzinski would get his second of the game ninth of the year to take a 4-3 lead. Garland would come in and send it in front and the Canucks wouldn’t put it home. Hughes would take the game into his own hands and try to get a goal for the Canucks with his shot going wide and Shesterkin grabbing the centering pass on the second chance. The Canucks would pull the Goalie and the Rangers would get in down . the Canucks would come back and get a chance with a big scramble in front and wouldn’t put it home and would have to get the puck and they Canucks would continue to try and push with good chances but the Rangers would hold and J.T Miller would get the empty net and the Canucks would fall 5-3 to the Rangers in embarrassing fashion out shooting them 39-12 and still losing. No positive to this game they just got embarrassed and no should miss the playoffs.
